Cinnamon Sugar Candied Pecans

November 21, 2014 by Jeff Portaro Leave a Comment

These Cinnamon Sugar covered pecans are ridiculously good with a perfect blend of sweet and salty tastes mixed with cinnamon and vanilla accents. We love pecans in our house and use them for snacks, salad toppings, and the occasional pecan pie.

Cinnamon Sugar Candied Pecans

Ingredients:

2 pounds of pecans
2 egg whites
1 Tbsp water
1 Tbsp Vanilla
1 1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
2 Cups Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven at 250º
  2. In a large bowl combine egg whites, water and vanilla. Whisk until it gets frothty.
  3. In a separate large bowl mix sugar, salt and cinnamon. If you have a large tupperware bowl with a lid this may be a good one to use since we will mix everything in it. Alternately you can use the shake-n-bake method with the Jumbo 2 Gallon Size Ziploc Storage Bags.
  4. Toss/coat the pecans in the egg white mixture.
  5. Add the egg white mixture covered pecans to the bowl with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Cover with a lid and shake like crazy to get the pecans evenly coated.
  6. On a large cookie sheet or baking dish spread out the pecans and bake for 1 hour at 250º. Toss/Turn/Mix the pecans every 15 minutes.
  7. Enjoy
